A little Blurb here and there

SO... THanksgiving. It was better than expected at one celebration, and slightly more boring at another. Gma A's dinner on Thanksgiving Day went better than we all expected. She may have finally let the whole wedding dramam go, however only time will tell with her. THere was one bump with her. J, being preggo, is constantly feeling nausious and that day was no exception. Her, my self, and Gma A were in the kitchen and Gma A came up behind J and smacked J's sides somewhat hard. I don't think she knows how hard her smacks can be, because even not being preggo, they hurt. J yelled a lil bit, and then ran to the bathroom to hurl yet again (she had just come out of the bathroom from hurling when Gma A did that). Other than that, it went okay. Mer and her brother Ieek were there usual handfuls, Mer not wanting to eat her food-- she actually took a finger of mashed potatoes and rubbed it into her shirt. This from a 10 year old! Ieek was better at eating his food (THey had to eat most/all of their food before they could get a roll. Usually if they eat the roll first, none of the rest of the food will get touched).

Last night was okay. Not as many of the relatives came because a handful of them were sick, and the others that were absent were either working or were waiting to see what their significant other was going to be doing after they got off work. My Aunt C was there, being her usual funny self. Sadly, the cat that I usually pet outside that's so loving and adorable, Fat Fred, died :( According to Tek, he had gotten pretty banged up after getting into a fight with another animal. Dad is either already at H's place, or is almost there. He had to go to where H lives to do a brake job on her truck. Apparently, for being one of the smarter siblings in the family, she doesn't know that much about keeping up with car maintainance! Both of their cars are crappy right now (she also has a mini cooper- i'm jealous of it bc those cars are fast and cute!) but only one of them Dad can go help with. It kinda sucks because my car might be acting up right now. I would know for sure if something was wrong with it, only Dad didn't test drive it like he usually does when I come home. So hopefully the car lasts me until I get back on either Dec. 8th or 9th, depending on when my finals are done, because school is not in the same town as him, and I don't have the money or expertise to fix my car in my dorm parking lot. He did say that if I think something is definitely worng with the car, to wait for him to get back and then I'll mostlikely be driving the Chevy back to school. Only problem is, I have a 10am class Monday morning, and he won't be back from H's til probably about 8, from what he was guesstimating. Course that could have changed, who knows. I'm hoping my car's okay. But if it's not, Grrr to the stupid roads around SSU, being all bumpy and hurting my car.

Okay, I might be able to post sometime during the next week, I might not, seeing as it will be the last week before finals. After finals, I'll try to post once a week about what's going on around home, possibly some fictional stuff as well. I'm thinking of creating another blog to that, but I'm not sure yet. Well, hope everybody's Thanksgiving went well :)

No Good

Okay, I'm no good at this. Pretty much, my time-management skills are non-existent when it comes to paper writing.I have a 5-7 page paper due in my Survey to British Literature 1 class due tomorrow, and I have yet to start it. Yes, I should have started it at least a week ago, that way I would have the research done, and the writing pretty much wrapped up. Instead, I'm starting the paper after I type this post. I'm pretty sure I'm going to focus on Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, possibly the Wife of Bath Prologue/Tale (not sure which), but that's not concrete. My feelings towards this paper are as long as I meet all the requirements of the research paper (paper length, research requirement, etc.) then hopefully I'll at least get a C on this paper. Would I like to get a better grade than that? Of course, but I'm being realistic here.

On top of needing to write this paper, I need to read Part 3 and Book 4 of Gulliver's Travels for that class tomorrow. Then I can go home for Thanksgiving. And before any of you ask, yes, I'm still apprehensive about Thanksgiving at Gma A's house.

Things with the roommates have been.. okay since the last time I wrote. Definitely think that something's up between the two of them, because of yesterday. This whole weekend, M was the only one here besides me (E went home Thursday night, forgot stuff which is why I peevishly have to take her what she forgot >:( and T went home Friday) Speaking of them, I'm pretty sure T just got back from what ever excursion she went on a little while ago and is gonna be peeved that I put the thermostat back on heat (one of them set it on a/c 64-- ya, a wii bit chilly in our house). When T got back last night, M was rarely in the same room as her. And when they were, there was very little conversation going on between them. Which is weird for them, because throughout this semester they've been attached at the hip and loud as hell when conversing. Maybe M got sick of T's slobbish ways, of her not washing her dishes or trashing the kitchen/bathroom/house in general. Who knows.

I probably should get working on this paper. Wish me luck. I'm going to need it.

Assumptions Get You Nowhere

So, I'm a little irked with my roommate right now. She went home for the weekend early. We only have school Monday and Tuesday of next week because of Thanksgiving. She was going to come back for classes Monday and Tuesday. However, I got a text a couple hours ago, asking if I could bring her some stuff that she forgot down here. At first it was just one thing, but about an hour after that, she added something else she forgot. I texted her back because I thought she as coming back Sunday night, and that she thought I was going home this weekend, which I'm not, seeing as it'd be a waste of gas since I'll be going home on Tuesday. I'm irked at this because it's like when she added the second item, she's automatically thinking I'll do it, even though I have not said yes. Granted, I might end up doing this, but that is besides the point. The point is, it aggravates me that she's just assuming I don't have concrete plans on Tuesday and that I can meet her anywhere to bring her her stuff. yes, we all tend to forget something from time to time, but the assumptions she's making really just-- irks me. Part of it being PMS (sorry for the tmi moment) but I doubt she would like it if the roles were reversed.

I.. am NOT awake

Late nights and early mornings SUCK! I was up until around 4:30am working on a presentation that's due today (sill not done, luckily it's not due til 6pm-- today's going to be a VERY long day), and then had to be up around 8/9-ish to be up for my 10am class that i've slept through the past through classes. So, i'll probably not be the most coherent person alive today, seeing as I have to finish a good chunk of my presentation, then if there's time, add pictures of my own to the thing.

Thanksgiving is next week, and I'm still apprehensive about what's going to happen. But on much more exciting news, my sister J is going with her husband Ph, our Mom, and her mother-in-law to her ultrasound, and they're going to find out the sex of the Lil Alien (nickname for her baby, H's baby's nickname is Lil whoseit-- i didn't come up with them, but they're better than boogerbutt, lil snot, etc).

I would go to sleep early tonight, however, I need to get a decent-sized chunk on my Survey to English Lit 1 paper done. It's not due until Tuesday, however, we're having a draft workshop tomorrow, so in case she wants to look at what I have so far, it's got to have a decent-sized chunk done.

Well, off to the cafeteria for some coffee and a biscuit before class.Wish me luck :)

Update: J's having a lil girl alien!!! Dad is even more outnumbered (three daughters, now a grandaughter). He's probably hoping that H has a boy, which is a major possibility. The far-fetched hop is if I ever decide to have kids, which if that ever happens is a LONG way off.

My powerpoint presentation went okay. I had my run of the mill tongue-tied moments, but everything went good as far as I could tell.

Pre-Thanksgiving Blues

As of right now, I have a feeling Thanksgiving day's dinner is going to not be a pleasant event. Why, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. I've briefly discussed the subject of my Grandma A and her bitter/spiteful behavior towards my sister J because she wasn't invited to the wedding. No one has talked to her since the chair incident.* This brings Thanksgiving dinner at her house into question. I just have this feeling there is going to be a big argument that will permanently alter relationships in the family. I know that if we end up taking my car, then I'm bringing my own set of keys for it so I can book it out of there. I'm pretty sure my mom has to work that day/night anyways (holiday pay = time and a half-- pretty nice). That way, if I book it outta there, then Dad has a way home. Granted, I'll prolly end up having to pick Mom up from work that night, but I can deal with that in order to break away from tension and shouting. Not to mention my two cousins, Ieek and Mer. Both autistic. Don't get me wrong, I love them dearly, and they have their moments. However, when my Aunt L and Uncle D bring the rugrats over to Gma A's house, they run wild, and scream shriek- pretty much very loud noises that are the culprits of some of my worst headaches. Ieek once broke a snowglobe that Gma A had in her computer room. Kid didn't even get a timeout.

Now, the day after Thanksgiving si a different story. I can't wait to see my Mom's side of the family. they're more laid back. I can practically be myself around them. It's only awkward when I'm pretty much the only person there that didn't bring their significant others besides the younger grandkids (Mom has 2 sisters, 2 brothers, 2 stepsisters = LOTS of cousins). But it kinda evens out because I spend a lot of time outside with the cats that roam the outside, or Sampson/Samson the chocolate Chihuahua. It's kinda funny Papa has him, because he's a farmer-type, and has (as far as I know) has only had Collies and non-accessory type of dogs. But he's adorable, especially when he falls asleep on Uncle R's stomach after dinner.

Well, I should have a fun weekend. Oh, I know I was going to tell you what went on this weekend, but there wasn't much to talk about. I just went to the 'rents house, hung out all weekend with them, J and her stepdaughter, and Dudley (dog). Had the meeting with the RA and The Children Sunday night. It went as expected. There's a ceasefire again, though this one seemes less tension-filled. It may actually stick for the rest of the semester. Hopefully it does. But back to this upcoming weekend. I have a presentation i have to do for a class on Wednesday, and I still need to read the chapter, put together the PP presentation, including finding some youtube clips on the subject. Wish me luck!

*J was promised a chair that had been our dead Grandpa B (who had been married to Gma A) by Gma A. At our dead aunt and uncle estates sale, J was going to bid on a set of chairs that she loved. gma A got them instead. When J and her stepdaughter met her for lunch, Gma A wouldn't let the wedding non-invite go (J threw together her wedding in 4 days, Gma A wasn't invited, threw a big fit pretty much, though she's claims she's accepted it/over it, she won't let the subject matter drop, trying to play the victim.) It was making J's stepdaughter upset, and if J hadn't been dizzy from the fact she's pregnant and needed to eat, she would've stormed out of the restaurant. That's right they argued in the restaurant and in the parking lot after eating. The reason being, Gma Ada, for J's b-day gift/wedding gift, gave her money, ONE of the chairs (was a pair of chairs she won at the estate auction), told J she was not only giving our other sister H the other chair, but J was no longer getting our dead Gpa B's old orange chair. Needless to say, j was upset.

Apparently...

...E and I are petty! Imagine that! Let me explain.

Any of you that have read my other "venting sessions" about the children have read all the petty/aggravating things they've done this semester. Well, last night M "asked" us to stop slamming the doors because it was causing the back one to become ajar. What she doesn't realize is that it was ajar because E had tossed the cat out for the umpteenth time, and had slammed it so hard that it didn't latch. It was quite funny actually.

Well, tonight, the lone streamer that has been hanging there since T's birthday weekend- we tore it down. I will admit, it was slightly petty. Apparently that was enough for them to call up "assholes" and "fucking bitches."* A few minutes later they knocked on our bedroom door saying we were just acting plain petty because of the door slamming (they were the ones that initiated the slamming for no damn reason- ours had a purpose**) Now, we brought up the towel problem, where they "claim a guy friend of theirs wiped his face on E's towels, which are now stained with the makeup- funny, the make up is the same shade as T's foundation/concealer. What a coincidence... We also said the cat can't come inside anymore, and brought up why we slam the doors. What we could have also brought up was the fact that M, through her last period used pretty much my entire box of tampons that were under the bathroom sink, because she "confused them for her own" and still has yet to replace them (a month later, but yet she can pay for the guinea pig supplies, the hair extensions, pizza and alcohol- but not a $5 box of tampons). Or the fact that not only is the bathroom trashed because of them, but also the entire house because of their "Thirsty Thursday" partying. Also the bedding that they've tracked throughout the house, or the name calling.

Thank God I'm going home this weekend... I might have the feeling that I lost a few more friends to the ex, but sadly, I kind of expect it anymore. It's sad because someone I consider to pretty much one of my best friends. But W shares more in common with him.. I guess this is what happens. Not saying it doesn't hurt though... I'll hang out with B this weekend, go see
The Men Who Stare At Goats. I had been trying to get a group of friends to go, but no one but her and W responded, his schedule's screwy, and he's the drifting away, so I'll hang out with her.. possibly hang out with J and Mom, and Dudley the wonder puppy of course (11 r old yellow lab/welsh corgi/ lil bit of basset hound mix-- resembles a fat yellow lab with legs cut off). Another weekend without the stress and chaos known as SSU. How nice it should be...

I'll try and update when I get back. If something happens before I leave tomorrow, I might post but no guarantees. Also, don't be afraid to leave your opinions. I'm a big girl, I can take it, lol :)

I'll try and post

*Now I will admit to being a bitch. In fact I embrace it sometimes. However, fecal matter does not come spewing out of my mouth.

**E would slam only the front/back door if she had to toss the cat outside because one of them let it in. I would slam it because of the cat, or bc T/M had been in the bathroom for over an hour, so I would have to brush my teeth in the building of the class I would have to rush to. They however slam every door in the house, for what appears to be no damn reason.

Guy Fawkes Day

Ever since my friends and I saw V for Vendetta, we've texted each other this poem every 5th of November.

Remember, remember the 5th of November,
the gunpowder treason and plot,
I know of no reason
why the gunpowder treason
should ever be forgot.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day!

How do you tell them...

Ever since I got off the phone yesterday with "J" (oldest sister, 21 wk preggo) the other day, I started to really wonder- how do I tell my friend K that her relationship with Al shows precursors of an abusive relationship? The reason I know the precursors is because in my Intro to Women's Studies class. We recently went over the precursors: being jealous, starts to isolate you from your friends, controlling issues. She has at least 2 outta 3, if not all. Let me explain.

I have been friends with K and Al since our freshman year of high school. They started dating in the past year or so. I'm not saying he's a bad guy. I'm just saying since my family has a history with domestic violence* and with this class, it's got me worried that their relationship could turn down a bad path, and I don't want to see that happen to her or him.

One of the things that he does is he doesn't like her to be in contact with some of her guy friends, including her ex. Now I can understand the ex thing to a point, but I've talked to both K and W, and neither of them ever want to date each other again. K kind of laments that W "got custody" of her best guy friend that was pratically a brother to her, J, after her and W broke up. However, her story on that one is a little iffy. Another instance of him not wanting her to talk to some of her guy friends is a semi-friend of mine** D. She was on the phone with D one night, and Al called. She asked if he could call back in a little while because she was on the phone with D and he threw a hissyfit. I was at her party that she had a week before her birthday. Al had a hold of her phone practically the whole time. D texted her while Al had it, and he wouldn't let her see the phone, so I texted D to say Al had the phone.

I'm just worried about her. She's changed a lot in the past year or so. When my ex dumped me and I cam e home for spring break, all I wanted was a girls only get together with her and KT. They couldn't hang out with me on the same day, so wee did separate days. KT's day was great. I was able to vent to her, and she was a shoulder for me. On K's day, she was an hour late, and she brought AL with her. I get the wanting to do everything with your boyfriend/significant other, however when you ask your friend for a girls day, it doesn't mean you can bring the bf along, especially if this is shortly after the one wanting the girls day just got dumped. Granted, Al in that moment actually was a better listener/was more sympathetic than K, but that is beside the point. I'm just worried.

So what do I do? My gut tells me that I should tell her, even if it's in a gentle manner. However, at the same time, it's telling me that if/when I do share my concerns, that friendship is done, and so is the one with Al. So what do I do?

*My aunt's first husband was abusive to her. The one incident that happened to her when I was just a baby (or was possibly not born yet, they were together for a while) was when their oldest child L had to try and pull him off of my aunt because he was choking my aunt. Needless to say, he's not welcome at family get together's and his children he had with her, along with my aunt have little to no contact with him.

**I say semi-friend because there are times when we get along, but then something happens that makes me not want to ever talk to him again.

myra and halloween dance

SO... Friday. Ya, it was good for the most part. It didn't start out very well, from what I wrote in the last post. I missed my 1st class on friday because even with 3 alarms, I still woke up with 13 minutes to get ready and hightail it over to class. By the time I had gotten ready, I had 2 minutes til class started, and I don't like to receive the dirty looks from professors when you show up late. So, I went to my other class that day, where only about half the class showed up. I half paid attention, half copied stuff out of the book (Patterns of English is not an attention-gripping class, if you can't tell.)

Anyways, I get back from class, walk into the dorm, and Bella/Stella/Deb (she goes by numerous names around our dorm units) was curled up in the living room chair. I was pissed. I started to walk over to her, and spilt a mug of water that was in the middle of the floor. I picked the cat up, and put her outside. I went up to my room to drop stuff off and grab my purse for my Halloween Dance prep, when one of
the children came back from class. Sometime during when she got back and then left afew minutes later, the cat was back in. I know this because when I went to leave shortly after her, there not only was the mug of water in the middle of the floor, but cat food next to it. Also, The cat came strolling into the living room from the semi-dining room. I decided to leave her in there because if I had picked her up to put her outside, it wouldn't have been gentle mostlikely, and I'm an animal person, so I don't like to hurt animals in any way. So the cat stayed inside while I drove off with road rage.

Shopping went okay. Found a flannel shirt for my costume (ended up being a cowgirl/farm girl) and to buy some other "necessities," such as make up, munchies, alcohol, you know- the college usual, lol. While I was out, I filled my E in via text, and she called MyRA on them, because she's allergic to cat dander, and plus we had agreed at the beginning of the semester that the cat would be fed inside to keep from possibly getting fined by housing for animals (one that they've broken since then, the animal bedding all over the upstairs and bathroom is proof enough even without the squeaking attacks from the damn thing) and because of allergies. When I got back, MyRA still hadn't been by. Not sure if they ever did, because I left to help Em and some other friends with dance prep.
While with Em and the others searching for costumes, I had to run back to the school to buy my ticket. Being a broke college student, I paid in a semi-unusual manner-- in all dimes! Now, I can easily be distracted. Such is the case, because after buying my ticket, I was making my way back to my car when I realized something-- I didn't take my keys with me when I went to pay for my dance ticket. That's right, I locked my keys in the car, in the ignition still!* Thankfully AAA finally came, unlocked the car, and I was on my way to finish getting ready for the dance.

While with Em and C and I were getting ready, Em threw me for a little bit of a loop with a question. "Will you ask Chr** to slow dance with you tonight? He's really shy..." (she went onto explain why I should, but some of the reasons are kinda personal.) "Em, is this to make up for the bowling setup that didn't pan out?" "Yep it is Ally. So will you?" "I'll think about it, that's all I'll promise to do."

We finished getting ready, met the guys at their dorm (and can I say, Chr was looking
good in his ninja costume that he created. Very easy on the eyes. Nice butt too, lol (what can I say? I'm a butt- broad shoulders liking kind of girl, lol:) ) WE headed over to the dance. THe dance was pretty fun. I ended up not dancing with him, which I guess is okay, and not okay at the same time. Em's bf (and Chr's roommate) and Em herself were trying to get me to dance with him at the first slowdance, but I'm not that comfortable with that particular type of dancing. One, because the last time I slow danced was sophomore year in high school with the guy I was dating at the time (not douche bag). Two because I barely knew Chr, had barely talked to him, and it would just be awkward, you know? I stayed at the dance for pretty much the whole time, cutting out 10 minutes before it ended because my feet were killing me. Word of advice- Boots with any kind of heel that are not completely broken in yet-- NOT GOOD DANCING SHOES! Two of my toes are still feeling weird.

Finally got my glasses back from Em's place today. I had left them there while getting ready, and couldn't grab them yesterday, so this weekend I've been semi-squinting at my computer, the tv, and the book i was trying to read.

Just to touch on
the children, or at least the one that was here with about 3 (by my guess) guests this weekend. I dunno what time they got up on Staurday, but by the way they were doing the "drunk potty shuffle" (where when the alcohol starts to hit your bladder) they started well before noon. I woke up at noon, wasn't able to get into the bathroom til about 2, 3 hours later for enough time to take a shower! Them being drunk and loud, meant I couldn't get intoxicated on a large level because of the possibility of getting written up if I had to call MyRa on them (children are both underage.) Luckily they quieted down, but by then, I wasn't really in the mood to drink anymore :(

One quick other thing about that slowdance. I went to sit down during the first slow dance of the night (luckily for the others I was in getting a drink/resting my feet). By the end of the song, I was cracking my knuckles, resisting the urge to leave, because it trudged up things that made me angry at Douche Bag Ex. Since then, I've been having dreams about him an da couple of our mutual friends bringing him to the dance and him trying to get me back. In the dreams I turn him down every time, and dissolve the friendships with the guys he came with. If anyone who reads this is good at dream interpretation, could you leave a comment with some incite? In one of them I'm actually dancing with Chr when they show up, and I think I may know what that one is about. That one I'm guessing might be about me being afraid that the things that happened with DB will happen with Chr if I put myself out there with him, but I may be wrong. I'm confused by my guyfriends being in the dream supporting DB. Any help?

*Sadly, this is not the first time I've done this- it's the third. The first was at ST. Ann's when I dropped off my mom's work badge. Luckily my dad was able to swing by and unlock the car before I headed back to school. The second time was this summer the day after my little car accident (got rear-ended, no one was injured), when I accidentally left my keys in the car when I went into the mall to go job hunting. AAA took forever to get there, and it was not a cool day outside. It was sunny, and I was sweating, and my bottle of water was with my still-in-the-ignition keys- taunting me from inside the car.

**Chr is the guy that she was trying to set me up with on the bowling/bonfire group things that didn't pan out. He's recently cut his hair, which is a plus, because he was looking a little goofy/too young with the poofy bowl cut he was starting to sport.

I need a caffeine drip, and a sledge hammer...

Ok, their partying and my insomnia need to stop tag teaming! Last night, shortly after my last post, my roommate and I got ready for bed (around 3am. Within 15minutes of turning the light out, the children and their posse came in. They stayed relatively quiet-- til they came upstairs. I didn't get to sleep til after 4, only to be woken up around 5am by them again. I dunno how I got back to sleep, but did I mention I have class at 10am? A class that I should be in at this moment, but am not because even with my 3 alarms, i didn't wake up til 9:47. By the time I had done my bathroom routine and gotten dressed, class was starting in 2 minutes, and it takes at least 8 minutes to get to class from my dorm. So I missed the class again! Hense the need for a caffeine drip and a sledge hammer. I'm tired, and I'm irritated. This day is not starting off very well at all...

How Long?

How long am I allowed to be bitter/angry? I was with him this time* for almost 2 1/2 years. After the breakup, I find out that pretty much everything he told me was a lie. Plus he went back to the girl he was dating before me.** So how long am I allowed?

It's been almost 8 months, I'll give you that. However, I am making progress in getting over him. I've stopped the crying. Granted, there are random moments when I think about him. He rarely shows up in my dreams, and he's not playing the "love interest" in them since the break up.***

Have I dated since then? Sadly, no. I almost dated someone, but the setup fell through (was the roommate of a friend's boyfriend). Personally, I think I'm going about this the right way. I'm taking time to get him out of my system, to figure out what my "type" is, if I even have a type.

Do I have regrets? Absolutely. When it gets down to it, I regret the relationship knowing now that it was based on his lies, him playing on my trust issues. But I regret the "firsts" I had with him completely. In the moment, I didn't. But now? Absolutely.

I think the thing I'm most angry/bitter/whatever you wanna call it about is that I don't know how to not let the "relationship" I had with him affect how I am with the guys I'll date in the future. I mean, the guy my friend was going to set me up with, he was pretty much the same type, except he had good hair, and was actually making something of himself. I told myself after the breakup that I would take a year off dating. I know I shouldn't run to the next guy like he's oxygen. I want to date, yet I don't. I'm not in the right frame of mind enough to give the guy the right attention/interest he deserves. I hate him for messing me up this much. though I've made progress since march, I hate that I'm not completely over him, and question sometimes if I'll ever be over him, since I somehow still consider him my first love. Because it was genuine on my part. That I think is the most heartbreaking part of it all. My feelings were genuine, and at the time I thought his were too. Now I don't know if anything was the truth or genuine from him. How am I ever to put my trust, my heart in someone's hands again? Seriously, how?

*We dated on two separate occasions in high school- once freshman year, once at the end of sophomore year through a month into junior year. I broke up with him both those times, he broke up with me this time.

**The girl he's dating now/was dating before this time incidentally was in my girl scout troop.

***Now that I think about it, my subconscious was possibly telling me he was pulling away because he was starting to not play the "love interest" in my dreams as much towards the end.

Post-Birthday "glow"

Well, I'm back after my b-day weekend. Most plans that had been in place, such as going over to my grandmothers and possibly getting into an argument and going to a friends party (she lives in a semi-sketchy neighborhood) were scrapped. Instead, Friday went out to dinner with my mom, pregnant oldest sister and her family, and did a little shopping. I have a new pair of boots! I love them. They're more feminine, unlike my fake combat boots that I've gotten in years previous.

Found out when my other pregnant sister is due (J had to "threaten" in a text message was she going to tell her H's due date or was she going to have to go into H's friends' work and ask her for it-- she finally told her May 25 :) ). Yes I'm excited about both! I need to get a move on with my quilt and then I can get started on both of their baby quilts. I fould some pre-cut stuff at the Walmart near my school which is kinda cute. None of it is "Winnie the Pooh" themed like J wants (no clue what theme H is going for, she's non-conversational as always) but some of it is pretty nice looking. All will tell with time, specially if my email reply pissed off Grandma A or not.*

Edit:

I was watching Dave Salmoni on the Jay Leno show tonight. Can I just say... YUMMY~!!! He's one fine-looking canadian!I watched some of his documentary on Animal Planent
Into the Pride, and though I thought he was a little crazy for doing what he did, there is just something sexy about a guy that works with animals-- especially him, lol :)

It's been a week since my b-day, and not much has changed. Found outmy grandma A is still causing drama, and upping the level, with the chair drama (I'm gonna have to go back in my other posts to see if I've previously written about it, but who knows). Pretty much, she's being bitter, and has now added being spiteful because she wasn't invited to my eldest sister's wedding**. I can semi-see why she's upset over this, but there is a point to where she needs to accept the apology and explanation and MOVE ON!

Things have come to a "semi-understanding" with the children.. I put that in quotes because they haven't gone out for
Thirsty Thursday yet, so the "ceasefire" might only be temporary. Instead of when the t.p. runs out int he bathroom us 4 share, we're just gonna cart it back and forth (seeing as we went through 3 roles in 3 days because someone from their room kept letting it puddle on the floor, something had to be done). Speaking of M, can I just say this- if you're going to do extensions, make sure they look natural and not blatantly fake! By having them look fake, it makes you look cheap, and I doubt you wanna spend whatever amount of money you did on themfor them to look cheap. Now if only the children didn't occupy the bathroom practically 24/7...

This weekend should be interesting... My school's having the halloween dance tomorrow night. I'm not going-- not a big partier. I'll hang out with friends, but, since I don't know that many people, and most of the people I do know aren't going or are going to be home for the weekend, so there's not going to be that many people to dance with/hang out with there***.

Ok, I just gotta say something about this whole
Swine Flu "panic/fascination." If you've read/heard anything about it, it's just another variation for the flu virus that's been around forever! What make it different is the age range it's affecting most ("regular" flu hits more elderly, while swine flu is hitting the "younger generations"). What I'm trying to get at is, I'm sick of hearing about it every newscast. They're not presenting anything new, they're just spinning the same s$#% over and over again! By doing this, the media's just numbing people to the effect it can have on their lives, so stop spazzing on it. The media needs to stop attempting to stir up a panic in society! It's never a positive outcome! (sorry about the rant, but the news broadcast that I was watching had 2 back-to-back pieces on the swine flu, and it irritated me).

Well, if
The Children ever leave for their TT festivities, then I can finally get ready for bed. When I leave for class tomorrow, I'm so chucking the tennis ball someone's bouncing to the cieling downstairs out the door, if E hasn't chucked it outside before then... I'll try and update more regularly. Laters :/

*She had called me Tuesday last week asking what i wanted for my birthday so she could mail it to me before my bday that friday, something that would've been impossible. I had already told her the last time I was home a Walmart gift card- apparently she didn't remember. I didn't call her back because of the drama I heard she's stirring up from J on Wednesday. She sent what i like to call a "guilt trip email" on Saturday, so I replied kindof curtly on Sunday night, so only time will tell when she answers it.

**J and Ph (her new husband) put together their wedding in 4 DAYS. The only people that were there besides the bride, groom and pastor was the parents of them, siblings, spouses/children of siblings and her friend 'Chelle, who was her maid of honor. She got her dress from DB's for $99! Can we say deal? I think we can. They wanted to invite other relatives, but then it would've been a snowball situation, and they just wanted an intimate ceremony, and it was.

***If you haven't noticed, I'm not that much of an outgoing person when I'm not familiar with the majority of the people in the environment/situation.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I officially turn 22 at 2:42am friday morning. So happy birthday to me. Quick happy fact-- I share a birthday with Ryan Reynolds! Yay! He's 11 years to the day older than me *sigh* Can I just say, the scene in The Proposal, where he strips down for a shower and then he accidentally runs into Sandra Bullock's character in her skivvies-- Me and my friend B definitely drooled a lil bit in the theater!

Well, I'll write later to tell you how the birthday/birthday weekend went! Laters :)

Freehand Embroidery

Ya, so, this morning was a rude awakening from The Children. El and I went to bed around 3am, and I had a craptastic night of what I like to call "blink sleep" (where it feels like you've only blinked and you've actually been asleep for an hour). When we went to bed, they weren't back yet. Fast forward to when theycame back from their little excursion... at 8AM, waking both myself and El up by shouting and slamming stuff around in the house. El got outta bed and quietly asked them to keep it down since we were still trying to sleep (I had an hour before needing to get up, El had 3). "Stum" and "Taz" (nicknames I'm giving them on here) agreed to keep it down, tho Taz a few minutes later slammed their bedroom door. I wasn't able to get back to sleep, resulting in me being on edge for most of the day.

Onto something of a lighter topic. I have a quilt that I have been working on. It's a quilting set (not my idea, I wanted to get two or three different colored fabrics, cut them into decent-sized squares and sew them together, Granny had other ideas :/ ) that I have most of the basic sewing done by hand. I'm not using a sewing machine, which sometimes make the sewing tedious, but worth it in the end. Right now, I'm starting the embroidery details on the some of the blocks. I'm kinda straying from the original design laid out int the directions with the quilt embroidery wise, because cutting out and sewing fabric flowers onto another piece of fabric is too annoying and time-consuming for me. So instead, I'm free handing some embroidery details on it. As of right now, I'm thinking different colored flowers, but I may add other little details if I feel like it later on before I start piecing the whole thing together and buying/sewing the backing and padding/inside fluff. If i can ever figure out how to upload pictures on here, I might post some pictures of the final result, though that will be MUCH later on down the road. I still have yet to get the baby quilts I want to sew for my two sisters* that are both pregnant (one's due in late march/early april, the other one- i dunno when she's due, no one seems to) but I have yet to buy the material. I found at Wally World (as so many people call it) that they have little pre-cut baby quilt kits available. I'm hoping atleast one of them is a Hundred Acre Woods-themed kit (oldest sister has decided on that theme).

Well, gotta get back to embroidering. Laters.

*Youngest of three-- has perks and drawbacks.

Ever get to this point?

For some reason, my roommate is starting to get on my nerves, I think it has to do with evil week coming up, maybe it's lack of sleep practically every night (it's been turning the lights off around 3AM for the past couple nights. I dunno. But there's little things today that have been irking me.

Who knows. Maybe I'll be back to "normal" tomorrow. only time will tell.

Hair dryers be damned!

I'm sitting here in my room, listening to the demonic sounds of the hair dryer going in the bathroom, and I'm wondering, Why the hell o you have to dry your hair in the bathroom, when your roommates not even in your f%^&ing room?

Let me backtrack for a second. I'm a college student, and share a dorm apartment with 3 other girls. I get along with the girl I room with El, but the other two I'm having "difficulties" with. I mean, one of them I share a similar class schedule with, so we're usually needing to get in the bathroom around the same time. Which i s no big deal. EXCEPT for the fact that in the morning, whether its a day we both have 10am classes or noon classes, she'll go into the bathroom to take a shower a little over an hour before class, and is still in the bathroom when there's around 5 minutes to get to class. And the even more aggravating fact in this is that the majority of that time, she's doing her hair! Maybe 15 minutes of that over an hour time span is spent with the shower running. I've had several times this semester where I haven't been able to get into the bathroom before class, and luckily had my toothbrush and toothpaste in my room, otherwise I would've had to pile on the altoids for class!

These girls (or as El and I enjoy calling them,
The Children, because even though they're 19, almost 20, they act like they're 5 most days) trash the house, let their dishes pile up until both sinks are filled, and still let them sit there. Plus, one of the rules of dorms is that we're not really allowed to have animals. We're allowed to have fish/aquatic-based animals, as long as the max sized tank we have is a 10gallon and we get the okay from the RA first. This is not the case for the animal they have. They have a black( maybe dark brown, it was semi dark in their room when I saw it from the doorway) and white guinea pig named Hennely. Now, I'm not against having animals int he dorms, in fact, my freshmen year here, we did have them. HOWEVER, there was a difference in the situation. Namely, the WHOLE HOUSE AGREED on having the animals! In the case with my current roommates, they didn't run the idea by us. We've turned them into the RA after we found out they had an animal. Call us snitches, but I don't give a damn. I'm not gonna get fined $25/$50 dollars per animal, per day for something I had no part of.

They aggravate me so much. One of them still owes me money/a box of tampons, (whichever one she gets around to giving me) because she "mistook my box as the box she had bought." THEY WEREN'T EVEN THE SAME TYPE!! It's been over a week since she said she would buy me a box the next day, and I'm still waiting. It's getting ridiculous. You can afford to buy pizza, a guinea pig and its accessories, but you can't afford something that costs around $5? Ridiculous!

Ugh, I hate to get worked up, I get too much into bitch mode when I do, and it's hard to slide out of it/not direct it at everyone.

Onto a different topic. I have another question for you all (the few/if any readers I have). Is it too picky for a girl to have a list of some sort, a compilation of some kind of what she's looking for in a guy? I mean, the guy doesn't necessarily have every single trait, but just to have the most important ones? I've been single after getting out of a 2+ year relationship, and though he was back into another relationship with his ex before two months had gone by, I'm still semi-looking for the next guy to come around. When I say "semi-looking," I mean I'm kindof on a dating hiatus for the time being. I'm not some serial dater that goes from relationship to relationship in 2.5 seconds, but it's not like I'm looking for the guy that I want to spend the rest of my life with at my age. I'm only (almost) 22 and still in college for heavens sake! If the next guy I date turns out to be in it for the long haul, then yippie skippie. But I'm not going to go out there looking for the one.

Well, I have something else I want to write about, but it can wait for another entry. Laters!

Slight change in plans

Ok, when it comes to the blog, I've decided to change things up a bit. When it comes to what I'll write about, fiction/nonfiction, it'll depend on my mood and what's going on. If I'm feeling creative that day, I might post a fiction blog. If I'm not, and feel like venting, I'll write about what's going on in my life.

Let me ask you guys.. What would you like to see written about in this blog?

The one and only

Hi Everyone. I'm trying my hand at fictional blogging. I have anther blog that I sometimes write in about my life, but that one is separate from this one. My real life might influence what I write on here, but it won't be anything like the Hills. More like a real life fiction, if you will. Posts will possibly come weekly, though sometimes I might get a little sidetracked with real life drama and miss a post every now and then. Feel free to comment or make suggestions. As of right now, I'm thinking I'll post at least once a week, probably on the weekends, when I have the most free time. Anyways, welcome to my blog!
