Am i allowed to miss you?
It is that time of year again. Where we all realize how long you have been gone. We all miss you, wishing you were here. Some are more eloquent than others at expressing how they feel. There are also those of us that cared for you from afar and almost feel like we are not allowed to grieve you with everyone else. To me, you were louder than life, this enigma among the common man. I miss you and your jokester and your serious ways. It does not seem real that it has been 8 years since you left us. It feels like you should be the fun uncle, not buried in the cemetery. I know you watch over all of us, but can you feel us missing you when a certain song comes on the radio? Or when a memory hits us out of the blue, is that you telling us you are thinking of us too? I miss you.

Long Time, New Post
I know, it has been a very long time since I posted (3+ years to be exact). I recently left the job that I had been at for almost 6 years. The stress was getting to me so badly that I was having what I refer to as “verbal dyslexia,” or thinking one word and saying another. Since leaving, I have not noticed it happening nearly as much, whereas before it was at least once a sentence.
Earl, the dog we had since 201 passed in late 2017 (on one of my sisters birthdays), and we got a dog a couple of months after named Zeke. He is like Earl in some ways (couch/bed hog) but also unlike him in other ways (age, not afraid of storms/fireworks/NASA-type beeping). Every day we learn something new about him.
Back to my leaving the job though. I wanted to ask you readers something (those of you that hung around that it). When you leave a job, and you were supposed to be friends with most of whom you worked with, do you expect to still hang out outside of work? We all have contact via Facebook, but actually getting together has not happened since I left. I reached out to a few of them to set up hanging out, they said they would get back to me and never have. Since then, people that still work there have posted pictures of them all hanging out at events both job and not job-related. The only people that I have hung out and communicate with on a regular basis are those that I was close to that left around the same time as me.
Was it hard to leave that job? Absolutely. I miss (most of) the people that I worked with, some of the clients, but I do not miss the stress. Do my new jobs have stress? Yes, but not to the same extent. Every job has stress. I know and understand that. And I get that I was not completely honest with those I worked with as to the full extent as to why I left. But does that mean that they should just give lip service and say “Miss you” but not make plans to get together?
I have another question fro all of you. A couple of friends wanted to set me up with a friend of theirs. I finally reached out to him via Facebook request, he accepted same day. Didn’t hear from him after that for almost 3 weeks! I know he had my number for at least 2 of those weeks since one of our mutual friends texted it to him in front of me. And though he did finally reach out to me, he has yet to set up anything. My question for you is this: how long do you wait til you say too late, you missed your shot?
Anyways, I will try to post a little more frequent than every 3 years, lol. Hope all are doing well.
