Ya, so, this morning was a rude awakening from The Children. El and I went to bed around 3am, and I had a craptastic night of what I like to call "blink sleep" (where it feels like you've only blinked and you've actually been asleep for an hour). When we went to bed, they weren't back yet. Fast forward to when theycame back from their little excursion... at 8AM, waking both myself and El up by shouting and slamming stuff around in the house. El got outta bed and quietly asked them to keep it down since we were still trying to sleep (I had an hour before needing to get up, El had 3). "Stum" and "Taz" (nicknames I'm giving them on here) agreed to keep it down, tho Taz a few minutes later slammed their bedroom door. I wasn't able to get back to sleep, resulting in me being on edge for most of the day.
Onto something of a lighter topic. I have a quilt that I have been working on. It's a quilting set (not my idea, I wanted to get two or three different colored fabrics, cut them into decent-sized squares and sew them together, Granny had other ideas :/ ) that I have most of the basic sewing done by hand. I'm not using a sewing machine, which sometimes make the sewing tedious, but worth it in the end. Right now, I'm starting the embroidery details on the some of the blocks. I'm kinda straying from the original design laid out int the directions with the quilt embroidery wise, because cutting out and sewing fabric flowers onto another piece of fabric is too annoying and time-consuming for me. So instead, I'm free handing some embroidery details on it. As of right now, I'm thinking different colored flowers, but I may add other little details if I feel like it later on before I start piecing the whole thing together and buying/sewing the backing and padding/inside fluff. If i can ever figure out how to upload pictures on here, I might post some pictures of the final result, though that will be MUCH later on down the road. I still have yet to get the baby quilts I want to sew for my two sisters* that are both pregnant (one's due in late march/early april, the other one- i dunno when she's due, no one seems to) but I have yet to buy the material. I found at Wally World (as so many people call it) that they have little pre-cut baby quilt kits available. I'm hoping atleast one of them is a Hundred Acre Woods-themed kit (oldest sister has decided on that theme).
Well, gotta get back to embroidering. Laters.
*Youngest of three-- has perks and drawbacks.
