Damn! I'm Rusty...

I... am a DUMBASS! *hits heads countless number of times against wall/pillow/bed*

You see, I left a little bit out about the guy that I was irked with for being a no show (the guy that's supposed to buy my women's studies book) well he texted me as I was getting out of Rhetoric and Reasoning today, but I didn't get them til I was back at the dorm because I left my phone here during class. What I left out about him (we'll call him JB) is that I think he's kinda cute, and have a tiny bit of a crush on him too, not that he'll ever know about it.. Anyways here's how the text convo went.

JB: Boo.

JB: Ahem... I said "boo."

Me: o..k. um, who is this? (He had my number, but I didn't have his)

JB: John! I wanted to buy a book. Criticism class... The handsome guy with a stupid beard?

Me: lol. what time did you want to meet @the uc to buy it from me?

JB: I dunno, want to get dinner?




See, the reason I'm a dumbass, is because I'm REALLY rusty at the whole dating thing. My last boyfriend (that will forever be a douchebag in my book and if he follows his m.o. and shows up on my doorstep/parents doorstep in a year or so, i'm gonna make it really hard for him to have kids/sex) and I rarely went on dates. We normally hung out wherever he was living at the time. I think we went on one solo date and a couple of group things that possibly constituted as a date, but prolly not. As you can see, not much experience in the whle going out on dates department.

I, for some reason, heard a little voice inside my head saying "aren't you not supposed to accept a date if he asks on the day he wants to go out?" And like a dumbass, I followed it. I texted him back, saying "sorry have plans with friends tonight." Yes it was a lie at the time, but now I am meeting up with my friend Em at the UC for dinner. What makes me a dumbass in this situation though, is the fact that I forgot to ask for a raincheck on the dinner thing.

I may be rusty, but he did come across as a little bit flirtatious in the texting. Was he really asking me out on a date, or am I just reading too much into this? I'll see him in class thursday morning, so that should be interesting. I'm so in need of a slight crash course in dating, lol, *groan*
